- 1.Write these three numbers in order, starting with the smallest: 7/20, 0.3, 32%
- 2.A crowd of 8,400 people is recorded correct to the nearest 100. Work out the smallest possible number of people in the crowd.
- 3.The diameter of an artificial silk fibre is 4 × 10⁻⁶ metres. One nanometre is 10⁻⁹ metres. Work out the diameter of the fibre in nanometres.

- 5.A cinema has 250 seats. 12% of the seats are reserved. Work out how many of the seats are reserved.
- 6.A café buys 18 boxes of teabags at £3.45 each, and sells all the teabags for £108 in total. Work out the café's profit.
- 7.A block of butter has a mass of 250 g, correct to the nearest 10 g. Using m for the mass of the block in grams, write down the error interval for m.
- 8.A cheetah runs at a steady speed of 25 metres per second. Work out this speed in kilometres per hour.
- 9.A cyclist rides at a steady speed of 8 metres per second. Work out this speed in kilometres per hour.
- 10.Rice is sold in a 400 g bag for £1.12 and in a 1.5 kg bag for £3.90. Work out how much less the rice in the larger bag costs per kilogram.
- 11.A tap fills a 20 litre bucket in 2 minutes 30 seconds. Work out the rate of flow, in litres per minute.
- 12.Write these decimals in order, starting with the smallest: 0.6, 0.55, 0.601, 0.5, 0.56

- 14.A number, n, is equal to 3.7 when rounded to 1 decimal place. Write down the error interval for n.
- 15.A bag of flour is labelled 1.5 kg, correct to the nearest 0.1 kg. The true mass of the flour is m kg. Which inequality gives all the possible values of m?
