- 1.The length of a nail is 12 cm, correct to the nearest centimetre. Using L for the length of the nail in centimetres, write down the error interval for L.
- 2.Work out √25 + 4² − 12 ÷ 3
- 3.Write the fraction 47/50 as a decimal.
- 4.A rectangular tile measures 45 cm by 0.6 m. Work out its area, in square centimetres.
- 5.A school orders 187 packed lunches for a trip. Each packed lunch costs £4.85. The school has £900 to spend. By rounding each number to 1 significant figure, work out an estimate for the total cost and decide whether £900 is enough.

- 7.A number, x, is truncated (not rounded) to 1 decimal place and the result is 6.2. Write down the error interval for x.

- 10.An allotment is divided into two plots in the ratio 2:3. The larger plot has an area of 18 m². Work out the fraction of the total area taken up by the smaller plot.
- 11.Write these three numbers in order, starting with the smallest: 7/20, 0.3, 32%
- 12.Priya adds 3.6 and 0.45 on paper and writes down 3.65 as her answer. Work out the correct value of 3.6 + 0.45.
- 13.A sponsored walk is 36 km long. Aisha has completed 8/12 of the walk. Work out how far she has walked.
- 14.Write 260,000 in standard form.
- 15.A gym increases its membership price by 1/5. The original price is £60. Work out the new price.
