- 1.Work out an estimate for 8,900 ÷ 29, by rounding each number to 1 significant figure.
- 2.A garden has flowers, herbs and vegetables in the ratio 2 : 3 : 4. What fraction of the garden is not vegetables?
- 3.A number, y, is equal to 8.2 when rounded to 1 decimal place. Write down the error interval for y.

- 13.Grace drinks 1/3 of a bottle of water in the morning and another 1/3 of the same bottle in the afternoon. Work out what fraction of the bottle she has drunk altogether.
- 14.The number 72 can be written as 2³ × 3², and the number 108 can be written as 2² × 3³. Work out the highest common factor of 72 and 108.
