- 1.A box stands on a table. The box exerts a force of 240 N on the table, and the base of the box has an area of 0.8 m². Work out the pressure the box exerts on the table, in N/m².
- 2.In a photo album the ratio of colour photos to black-and-white photos is 9 : 4. Work out the number of black-and-white photos as a fraction of the number of colour photos.
- 3.Work out 4π + 2π, giving your answer as a multiple of π.
- 4.In a car park the ratio of vans to cars is 2 : 7. Work out the number of vans as a fraction of the number of cars.
- 5.A cycle route is 350 m long. A footpath runs alongside it for 3/7 of that length. Work out the length of the footpath.
- 6.Round 0.0759 to 2 decimal places.
- 7.A bus leaves the station at 09:47 and arrives at its destination at 11:23. Work out the journey time.

- 9.A piece of ribbon is 2.4 metres long. Kim cuts 40 cm from it. Work out the length of ribbon left, in millimetres.

- 11.A car manufacturer offers a car in 6 colours and 4 trim levels. Two colour-and-trim combinations are not available: red with sport trim, and white with sport trim. Work out how many different colour-and-trim combinations are available.
- 12.A restaurant adds a service charge of 15% to a bill of £120. Work out the service charge.
- 13.Oliver uses his calculator to work out 25% of 80 and writes down 320. Without using a calculator, work out the correct value of 25% of 80.
- 14.Write down the decimal that is equal to 3/5.
