- 1.y is directly proportional to x. When x = 2, y = 9. Which of these pairs of values is also consistent with this proportion?
- 2.A recipe for pancakes uses 240 g of flour to make pancakes for 6 people. Work out how many grams of flour are needed to make pancakes for 15 people, using the same recipe.
- 3.Work out the value of x when 4/x = 2/5.
- 4.The exchange rate is £1 = €1.15. Convert £200 to euros.
- 5.Amelia uses 2 kg of flour to bake 5 cakes. Using the same recipe, work out how many cakes she can bake with 6 kg of flour.

- 13.3 pencils cost £1.20. Work out the cost of 7 pencils.
- 14.A shop sells rope by the metre. 3 m costs £7.50 and 5 m costs £11.00. Does this data show that the cost is directly proportional to the length of rope bought? Choose the correct verdict and reason.
- 15.Two numbers are in the ratio 2 : 3. The smaller number is 8. Work out the larger number.
