- 1.Work out (2/3)² + (1/2)². Give your answer as a fraction.
- 2.A concrete mix is made from cement and sand in the ratio 3 : 5 by mass. A builder mixes 96 kg of concrete. Work out the mass of cement in the mix.

- 12.An allotment is divided into two plots in the ratio 2:3. The larger plot has an area of 18 m². Work out the fraction of the total area taken up by the smaller plot.
- 13.Four locations each record a temperature one winter morning. Which of these temperatures is the coldest?
- 14.By listing systematically, work out how many two-digit multiples of 5 can be made using the digits 0, 3 and 5, if each digit can be used at most once and the number cannot start with 0.
- 15.Work out √225 ÷ 3.
