- 11.In a chess club, 3/8 of the members are girls and the rest are boys. Write down the ratio of girls to boys.
- 12.A car is hired from 10:00 on Monday until 16:00 on Thursday. Work out the total length of the hire, in hours.
- 13.A coach journey has a 55 minute first leg, a 20 minute break and a 40 minute second leg. The coach leaves at 13:25. Work out the arrival time, using the 24-hour clock.
- 14.A square petri dish has an area of 121 mm². A scientist wants to know its side length. Work out the side length of the dish.
- 15.A length, L cm, has the error interval 24.5 ≤ L < 25.5. Write down the degree of accuracy to which the length was measured.
