- 1.The density of a type of plastic is 0.9 g/cm³. Work out this density in kg/m³.
- 2.A pizza is cut into 12 equal slices. Ben eats 5 slices and Mia eats 3 slices. What fraction of the pizza is left, giving your answer in its simplest form?
- 3.Write these three numbers in order, starting with the smallest: 3/5, 0.55, 58%
- 4.Amelia estimates 48 × 21 by working out 50 × 20 = 1,000. Work out whether her estimate is an under-estimate or an over-estimate, and by how much.

- 7.Maya buys 4 plants at £3.20 each and a bag of compost for £6.75. She pays with a £20 note. Work out her change.
- 8.Write 0.06 as a fraction in its simplest form.
- 9.A restaurant adds a service charge of 15% to a bill of £120. Work out the service charge.
- 10.Amelia eats 5/8 of a bar of chocolate and Oliver eats 3/4 of an identical bar. Write both amounts as eighths and write down the greater of the two fractions.
- 11.Light travels at 2.998 × 10⁸ metres per second. A distant object in space is 3.1 × 10¹⁵ metres from Earth. Work out an estimate for the number of seconds light takes to travel from the object to Earth, by rounding each number to 1 significant figure.
- 12.In the number 3.472, work out the value of the digit 7.
- 13.3/5 of a 5/6 litre bottle of juice is poured out. Work out the exact volume poured out, in litres.
- 14.A window display has red baubles, gold baubles and green baubles in the ratio 4 : 5 : 6. What fraction of the baubles are not green?
