- 1.A cube-shaped storage box has edges of length 7 cm. A shelf can hold a total volume of 2,000 cm³. Work out the greatest number of these boxes that will fit in that volume.
- 2.Work out 5/6 × 2/9, giving your answer in its simplest form.
- 3.A sponsored walk raised £350 for charity. 20% of the money raised is spent on equipment. Work out how much is spent on equipment.

- 11.A coach journey has a 55 minute first leg, a 20 minute break and a 40 minute second leg. The coach leaves at 13:25. Work out the arrival time, using the 24-hour clock.
- 12.A rectangular patio measures 90 cm by 120 cm. Ben wants to cover it exactly with identical square tiles, as large as possible, with no tiles cut. Work out the side length of the largest square tile he can use.
- 13.During one night on a mountain, four hikers each recorded the temperature they felt: Ben −6 °C, Priya −2 °C, Sam −9 °C, Alex 1 °C. Work out the difference between the coldest and the warmest of these four temperatures.
- 14.A jumper is reduced by 15% in a sale to a price of £42.50. Work out the original price.
